What kind of ship never sinks?
Good luck! And thank you to Linda M. at McMillan, Psaroudis and Markey for the riddle this month.
The January riddle and answer:
There was an airplane crash and every single person on board died, but yet two people survived. How is this possible?
The two people that survived were married.
As you are all aware, ALTA’s Best Practices indicate that title policies shall be issued within 30 days of closing. Arguably, that standard does not apply to our odd ball State, but it is a standard that I believe all of us want to adhere to if we can.
Well, we are delighted to tell all of you that we are living up to our end of the deal. This past Monday morning, we were issuing policies for files that were remitted to us the previous Friday.
Obviously, we cannot issue a policy within 30 days of closing if the file is not remitted to us until the 31st day. However, we are in a position that we can issue a policy within a day of it being remitted. So…let’s say that you have a closing on Monday morning. That afternoon you e-mail us your Final Opinion and the related closing documents (lien waiver, etc). That same day you mail us the premium check. If the check arrives on Thursday, your client’s policy, as well as the Lender’s, will be issued Friday. Very cool!
We hope that you keep this in mind when deciding who has earned your business. We are doing all we can to continually raise the bar on the level of service we provide to our customers.
