June 4, 2011Many, if not all of you, have seen FNT’s recent decision to significantly change the coverage provided under policies issued by Fidelity, Chicago and Commonwealth Title related to mechanicsmen and materialmen’s liens. I have reprinted the letter for you below. Some of you are wondering what this means. . .while I don’t have an answer for you, I can tell you that I believe that this situation is in flux and may represent a strategic move designed to stir the political pot. I believe that we will likely see the law changed before the this seismic change in insurance coverage actually takes place. The short answer to the question posed by the title of this article is, “No.”
