The Quill – April 2021

When I started this Agency almost fourteen years ago, I had no preconceived notions of where I would take it and how far. My only goal then was, as it is now, to be the best Title Agency in the State. It’s been quite a journey. Along the way, I had a LOT of help. From my incredible employees and from all of you, our customers and friends. Fourteen years later, my primary goal has not changed. Like most successful entrepreneurs, my overriding desire is to provide value to my customers. So, it is with great excitement that I announce my decision to move our Agency under the umbrella of Fidelity National Title. Effective January 1^st of this year, we became a Division of Fidelity National Title Insurance Company. Moving forward, you will notice that our branding will include the words, “A Division of Fidelity”.

Joining forces with Fidelity was an easy decision for me in light of my stated overriding goal. Being part of Fidelity gives us access to resources that will enable us to deliver an even superior product. As many of you know, Fidelity is the Nationwide market leader in our industry. It is a Fortune 1000 company with nationally recognized leadership. For us, it means better access to resources, particularly information technology (IT) resources. Having access to these resources will enable us to turn around your commitments and policies with even greater efficiency. Additional IT resources (coming in the very near future) will also enable us to have an IT environment that is not subject to the whims of whatever server, router or modem is working or malfunctioning on any given day, as evidenced last week.

Fidelity gives us access to NC underwriting counsel with extensive residential and commercial underwriting experience and additional Underwriting Resources from a Company devoted to doing things the right way. It also allows us to deliver to you CLEs, Webinars and even Podcasts on a variety of industry-specific topics.

The strength of the Company and the Fidelity Brand will enable us to attract talent as our work force continues to grow and it gives our people the ability to grow into management roles that were not available as an independently-owned Agent. In short, joining forces with Fidelity allows me to take this Agency to the proverbial “next level”.

It’s also important to me that you all understand that “the more things change, the more they stay the same.” We are still an Agent for First American and North American which still gives us options to place your deals. I will continue in my role as Manager and as the person that answers your questions. All of our Underwriters and Staff are staying with the Agency and are all employees of Fidelity. We are still devoted to providing superior service. I will note that we made the move at the beginning of the year and I think you all would agree that we have done so without any noticeable difference in the delivery of our services. We’re still the same Agent we have always been, but now we’re packing more muscle.

Lastly, I want to stress that the fit is a good one. I have found the people at Fidelity to be top notch and a group that shares my values and that see the world through the same entrepreneurial eyes. We are so excited to be part of this great Team and look forward to continuing to show all of you what a truly excellent Title Agency looks like.
