This is the time of year where we all take the time to think about Thanksgiving. Not just the food, but the gathering, the people. We at Barristers Title have been thinking about all of our customers, and we are so thankful for each and every one of you. You’ve helped us accomplish our goal of continuing to donate to Earlier.org in support research for better testing methods for breast cancer. Together we’ve helped shape the world we want to live in. So, we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
We’re also looking forward to continuing our goal of providing quick and quality service to all of you. Our Commercial, Residential, and Customer Care Teams are available to provide commitments, update documents, and answer questions when you have them. Natasha and I love helping find solutions to title problems (please don’t ask me to help with any of your holiday cooking problems!), so you can close on time and with minimal disruption.
We hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season, and finds many things to be thankful for. We wish you all the best!
Thanks,
Sarah Fuentes and The Barristers Title Team
This month’s Quill Tip is unconventional and not real estate or title insurance related. Nonetheless, it is just as important, if not more important than any real estate or title insurance related tip. We all know November is the month of Thanksgiving. But, did you know November is also National Men’s Health Awareness Month?
During National Men’s Health Awareness Month, remember the importance of regular health check-ups and screenings. This month serves as a crucial reminder for men to schedule routine visits with their healthcare providers. Early detection of health issues like heart disease, diabetes and prostate cancer can significantly improve treatment outcomes. Click HERE to learn more about some additional benefits of early detection. In addition to enjoying the month of thanksgiving with your family and friends, please take this time to prioritize your health and encourage the men in your life to do the same!
The Barristers Title Team is not only here to assist you with your title insurance needs, we also care about you and your wellness. Now, go schedule those routine visits!
In perfect time for the holidays, Jennifer is sharing her mom’s sweet potato casserole recipe. This is one of Jennifer’s favorite dishes her mom serves at Thanksgiving every year. Enjoy!
Topping Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/3 stick butter
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Topping Directions:
Chop nuts in a food processor first. Remove nuts and combine rest of ingredients quickly in the food processor. Add chopped nuts and combine briefly. Sprinkle on top of the potato mixture.
Filling Ingredients:
3 cups sweet potatoes
1 cup sugar (can use less or you can use part or all Splenda)
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 stick of soft or melted butter
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 tsp butter flavoring (or butter)
1 tsp sherry
2 eggs beaten
Directions:
Mix all of the filling ingredients in the food processor (you don’t have to wash it after chopping the nuts). Cover with the topping mixture. Put into a greased baking dish. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 35 minutes.
Notes:
Serves 8-11 people if not a lot of sides. You can make this ahead and freeze to cook later (after thawing).
From mom with love.
